For the customer’s requirements for a 6061 aluminum alloy, 70mm, matte black, chamfered nut carabiner, we offered three quality levels with corresponding EXW unit prices based on different surface treatment grades:

  • Standard Quality

  • Sandblasted Quality

(2) Recommending Similar Models and Discussing Mold Development Solutions

To meet the customer’s quality requirements, after communicating with them, initially we first sent out existing products that closely matched their needs.

Then after the customer further clarified their requirements, we evaluated the samples they provided and informed them that a new mold would be needed for complete consistency.

(3) Structural Adjustments and Mold Optimization to Save Time and Costs

The customer wanted a longer spine for the carabiner.

Therefore, considering structural requirements, cost control, and delivery time, we proposed using an existing 68mm mold to achieve the desired effect by flattening the spine.

After the customer accepted the solution, we immediately arranged for mold adjustments and expedited sampling.

(4) Addressing Surface Issues: Quick Explanation and Upgrade Solution

After receiving the hand-polished quality sample, the customer was satisfied with the overall structure but concerned about slight surface imperfections.

We immediately explained the reason: Aluminum is relatively soft and easily develops minor marks when in contact with molds, hangers, and other components during production.

Simultaneously, we quickly provided a solution:

→ A sandblasted sample version of the carabiner was produced and sent to the customer for evaluation to meet their higher requirements for surface quality.

(5) Sample Approval Leads to Quick Order and Establishment of Continuous Cooperation

The sandblasted sample received high praise from the customer. Then, the customer immediately placed an order and subsequently placed a second order of several thousand units during the first batch of production.

For the first batch, since our 6061 aluminum alloy carabiners are accessories, surface defects and other losses are unavoidable during the production process. We will communicate with all customers who require high quality. After communication, we will make corresponding adjustments based on the actual situation.
