A customer ordered a high-quality matte silver triangular carabiner. In traditional manufacturing processes, this effect typically requires a specific chemical treatment. However, just before production of this batch, we learned that the matte treatment we were using was not environmentally friendly.
Faced with this situation, our production team faced two choices:
- Maintain the existing process and continue using the non-environmentally friendly treatment to achieve the matte look the customer was accustomed to.
- Eliminate the process and adopt a cleaner, more environmentally friendly one, but this would result in a finished product with a brighter silver hue.
We ultimately chose the latter.
For an outdoor backpack brand, the safety and environmental friendliness of the product are far more valuable than the glossiness of its appearance.
